Welcome to Woodside!
If you're new to Woodside you probably have plenty of questions.
Here are the ones we hear most frequently:
1. What types of worship services do you offer?
We offer three distinct Sunday services. Each has its own personality but they all feature scripture, prayer, music and the same sermon. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month.
Celebration Service at 9:00 a.m. – Held in our large worship center, the Vineyard, this informal and energetic service features worship music led by our praise band X-Changed.
Classic Service at 10:30 a.m. – This traditional service, held in the sanctuary, features our organist, choir, brass quartet, bells and a more classic order of worship.
Higher Ground at 6:00p.m. – Led by 40 Dayz, our senior high youth band, Higher Ground is a café-style service. It features contemporary Christian music in a relaxed, interactive environment.
2. What should I wear?
Anything you want. Casual dress is the norm. Our focus is not on who wears what, but whether people are connecting—with God and with their neighbor.
3. What should I expect at a Sunday service?
Don’t worry, we don’t single out visitors or guests…but we will greet you warmly! If you have a question, just ask someone at the Welcome Center right inside the main entrance, or one of our helpful greeters. After the service, enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack in our café, and get to know some of the Woodside community.
We serve communion on the first Sunday of every month. Woodside practices an open table and invites all baptized believers to participate.
4. What about my kids?
Woodside is the place for families with children of all ages! During the Sunday morning services we offer:
- Nursery and toddler care for little ones up to age three
- Sunday School for preschool to 5th grades.
During the rest of the week, check out:
- Adventure Club, a mid-week youth program for preschoolers through 8th grade.
- Junior High Youth Group for youth in 6th to 8th grades.
This active and energetic group meets on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. for Bible study, games and fellowship.
- Senior High Youth Group for teens in 9th to 12th grades.
The senior high group meets on Thursdays at 5:30 for band practice, dinner and Bible study, and on Sundays after Higher Ground for fun and fellowship.
If you have questions about Woodside's youth ministries, contact Pastor Gloria.
5. How do I get involved?
As they say in advertising slogans, just do it! Woodside is an active, vibrant community. We encourage everyone to join a Growth Group. It’s the best place to grow, serve and connect. No matter what your personality, availability, talent or spiritual gifts, there’s a place for you to become the person God designed you to be.
6. How do I join?
It’s not necessary to join to become involved at Woodside, but if you’d like to explore membership, we invite you to attend Class 101. After this three-hour class you can decide if you want to take the step and become a member of Woodside.
7. Can I meet the pastor?
No. We keep him quietly sequestered in the church offices and only bring him out for sermons on Sunday. Seriously, Pastor Doug loves to visit with seekers, new members and anyone exploring their faith. If you’d like to set up a meeting with him call the church office, 215-493-4145 or email Pastor Doug directly.
